Terms of Use
Last updated 20 August 2026
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Curio you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. Curio is also covered by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where that agreement and these terms conflict, these terms apply, except where Apple's rules require otherwise.
2. What Curio is
Curio is a learning app. It gives you short ideas across general knowledge and practical skills, asks you questions about them, and schedules those questions to come back at spaced intervals so that you retain what you learned.
3. What you get for free
Without paying you get one new idea a day and unlimited review of everything you have already learned. We do not gate review, show advertisements, or take anything away when you answer incorrectly.
4. Curio Plus
Curio Plus unlocks three new ideas a day, every learning path, and Ask Curio.
| Plan | Price | Renews |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | 6.99 EUR | Every month |
| Yearly | 54.99 EUR | Every 12 months |
Prices are in euro and vary by country. The price you will actually be charged is always shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
Free trial
New subscribers get a free trial. If you have used a trial for Curio before, you are not eligible for another. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged.
Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically. Your Apple Account is charged the price above at confirmation of purchase, and again at each renewal, unless you turn off auto renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Payment is taken within 24 hours before the period ends.
Cancelling
Cancel in iOS Settings, by tapping your name, then Subscriptions, then Curio, then Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds
Apple takes the payment, so Apple issues refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot refund an App Store purchase ourselves. Consumers in the EU and the UK keep their statutory withdrawal rights, which Apple administers.
5. Content, and being right
We write and check Curio's content carefully, and some of it is produced or expanded using AI, which we review. Even so, it is for general education only. It is not medical, legal, financial or professional advice, and you should not act on it as though it were. If you find an error, tell us and we will fix it.
6. Ask Curio
Ask Curio sends what you type to Google's Gemini API and returns a generated answer. Generated answers can be wrong or incomplete. Do not type sensitive or confidential information, and do not use the feature to produce unlawful, abusive or infringing content.
7. Acceptable use
Do not reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app except where law permits it; do not extract the content library in bulk or republish it; do not attempt to gain paid features without paying; do not attack, overload or probe our services.
8. Ownership
Curio, its name, its logo, its software and its content belong to us or our licensors. Buying a subscription buys you the right to use the app personally, not ownership of anything in it. Your own learning history is yours.
9. Availability
We may add, change or remove features, ideas and paths. We aim to keep the app working but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. If we discontinue Curio entirely, we will give notice in the app and stop charging for renewals.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Curio is provided as is and we exclude implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud, or any consumer right that cannot be excluded.
11. Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to support or maintain Curio. Apple is a third party beneficiary and may enforce these terms against you.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which we are established, and disputes belong to its courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will say so in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Curio after that means you accept the new terms.
